CASE STUDIES

Shanghai Pudong International Airport ( PVG )

Background
The Shanghai Pudong International Airport (IATA: PVG, ICAO: ZSPD) is the primary international airport serving Shanghai, and a major aviation hub for Asia. The airport has 556 check-in counters in T1 and T2, more than 47 million passengers passing through each year.

Challenge
The main challenge of the project was to improve the quality, visibility and design of the information provided to passengers, and to generate revenue for the concessionary.

CLEAR Solution
The Shanghai Pudong International Airport has deployed a large digital signage network using CLEAR technology offering those passing through the airport critical flight information combined with advertising via plenty of terminal players, which were deployed throughout the airport (domestic and international) .Content includes counters assignment, boarding message, baggage claim arrivals and departure information, and pure advertising.

It's worth mentioning that CLEAR's unique Multi-Screen Synchronization Technology via WIFI. There are dozens of screens distributed in the departure hall and they are scheduled to display the same content, advertisement mainly. Without any treatment, all the screens might display video or change picture in different pace even they are scheduled to show the same content. By using CLEAR Multi-Screen Synchronization Technology, the time difference of all the players are controlled within 40 millisecond that it is hard to sense the time sequence by human eyes.
